Atlanta, GA, August 17 - The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today announced the formation of a new campaign to improve legal response to hate crimes across the United States. 50 States Against Hate: An Initiative for Stronger Hate Crime Laws will work toward the passage of hate crime laws in the five states which do not have them – Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, South Carolina and Wyoming – while simultaneously seeking to make existing hate crime laws in the other 45 states more inclusive and comprehensive.
By Steve Bittenbender Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush unveiled on Monday a proposal to tackle immigration issues, saying any plan that addresses amnesty for illegal aliens must also come with a “robust strategy to improve border security.”
Washington, DC, Aug. 4 - In an effort to further ensure that most immigration law violators, including many criminal aliens, are allowed to remain in the United States, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Jeh Johnson scrapped the effective Secure Communities Program last November. In its place, DHS is implementing the Priority Enforcement Program (PEP), which will limit the identification and removal of criminal aliens to those who meet the Obama administration's own narrowly defined priorities for removal.

New York, NY, October 8 - L-3 Communications announced today that it has been competitively awarded a $30 million contract from the U.S. Coast Guard to missionize two C-130J aircraft using a next-generation mission system suite. The total value of the contract, with all options exercised, is approximately $93 million and work will be performed by L-3 Platform Integration in Waco, Texas. The government-owned mission system was developed jointly by the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Navy and is operated across multiple platforms.
McLean, VA, October 7 - To help Federal agencies stay ahead of evolving Cyber security threats, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the General Services Administration’s Federal Systems Integration and Management Center (GSA FEDSIM) have selected Booz Allen Hamilton to fulfill Task Order 2D of the Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation program (CDM Task Order 2D). The contract – valued at $82.9 million over three years – is the second CDM Task Order award for Booz Allen under the DHS CDM Program.

According to Bobby Brown, VP for Homeland Security, Telephonics business units include a Maritime Surveillance unit, a Communications unit and an Integrated Surveillance Group, which produces a ground-based Advanced Radar System (ARSS), with 1,600 systems deployed globally.  In recent years, Telephonics has collaborated with Customs and Border Protection to develop a package called the Mobile Surveillance System (MSS) that includes ground radar, pan-tilt cameras and a C2 system, with 44 systems presently in CBP’s inventory.
