December 8 - Among the men suspected of helping carry out the Nov. 13, 2015 Paris terrorist attacks is Samy Amimour, a 28-year-old French citizen who already had been charged with terrorist conspiracy in 2012. He is not the first person to be charged with a terrorism-related crime and then later to be associated with a serious attack. In January 2015, two brothers — Chérif and Saïd Kouachi – killed 12 people at the Paris offices of the Charlie Hebdo satire magazine.

It can feel like the purpose of government is to impede progress with layers of regulations, sometimes slowing the flow of business to a crawl with unnecessary bureaucracy. Once in a while, though, from the perspective of private business, the government gets it right.
By Steve Bittenbender As the Transportation Secretary waits on the findings from a task force looking at how to establish a registration system for unmanned aircraft, a public policy organization is calling on Congress to take additional action to help make the skies safer. The American Leadership and Policy Foundation said Congress should consider requiring background checks performed on people who purchase drones and the components to make such unmanned machines. A licensing and certification process also should be examined.
