So vital, in fact, that its incapacitation or destruction would have a debilitating effect on everything from economic security to public health and safety. According to Bobby Brown, VP for Homeland Security, Telephonics business units include a Maritime Surveillance unit, a Communications unit and an Integrated Surveillance Group, which produces a ground-based Advanced Radar System (ARSS), with 1,600 systems deployed globally.  In recent years, Telephonics has collaborated with Customs and Border Protection to develop a package called the Mobile Surveillance System (MSS) that includes ground radar, pan-tilt cameras and a C2 system, with 44 systems presently in CBP’s inventory.
