Tenable Network Security CSO to speak at ISSA-LA Sixth Annual Information Security Summit
Tenable Network Security’s Chief Security Officer, Marcus J. Ranum, will speak at the upcoming Los Angeles chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA-LA) Sixth Annual Information Security Summit. The event’s theme will be “The Growing Cyber Threat: Protect Your Business.” It will focus on providing educational programs and forums for businesses, IT professionals, and law enforcement to learn more about how to secure their information online.
“We are privileged to have Marcus speak at our Summit about how to use the Internet more securely in protecting our privacy,” said ISSA-LA President Stan Stahl, PhD. “Marcus is a world-renowned expert on security system design and implementation. In our efforts to find solutions to cybercrime, Marcus is one of the early innovators of the firewall.
“His closing keynote address will follow our panel discussion, ‘Privacy and Security in the Age of NSA and Snowden.’ He is another person who exemplifies ISSA-LA’s principle belief that ‘It takes the village to secure the village,” said Stahl.
The event will take place at the Hilton Universal City Hotel in Los Angeles, CA on May 16, 2014. More information about the summit is available at www.ISSALA.org.
In addition to Ranum’s role at Tenable, he has created a number of security solutions and is also a prominent speaker and consultant on security and privacy related concerns for businesses and government agencies.
